anyone know where I can get one? he needs a 34" chest and marks's don't go up that far in children's sizes. I don't want to pay too much as he's growing so fast, it could well be on ebay in february!

I'd be surprised if your local Bhs store didn't have something suitable (at a reasonable price). They don't list their products online but you can find your nearest store here:

Littlewoods have closed their stores but they maintain an online presence. Their site (irritatingly) insists on sticking to the (interest free) payment-over-20-weeks system, rather than permitting you to pay outright, but if you use direct debit it's still only one click with a mouse however you pay. If you put up with this little annoyance, they sell a traditional warm duffle coat (in a 34/36 size) for 28:

They've also got a parka coat for 24:

Odd! I've been edited! Ooh .... painful!
(It was only my name which got cut).

Don't forget the 'cheapo' places. Primark used to be regarded as a bit of a joke by a lot of people. These days they've got quite a reputation as a place to go for cheap but gashionable clothes. Find your nearest store here:
http://www.primark.co.uk/locator1.shtml

It might also be worth checking out the George department at Asda.

What about looking at ebay? See if someone else has had the same thought!

thanks all, I am watching a few on ebay, but he really needs to try before I buy!

I had totally forgotten about BHS, so will try there tomorrow and if there's nothing suitable, I think I'll give littlewoods a go.

sadly there isn't a primark anywhere near me - boo hoo!!

I've just bought my son a really nice warm one with fleece lining etc.

It's a sports brand called Diadora and I got it from Soccer World or sometimes called Sports Soccer You'll find them on out of town retail parks. It was 10.49 reduced from 49.99
