Ordered Goods From China
14 Answers
Hi chatterbankers, Wonder if any of you can offer some advice .... recently ordered a couple of cheap items, via Amazon, and it's very obvious that they are both coming from China. In the light of this Corona virus epidemic, I am not sure what to do. They aren't particuarly expensive items (quite the opposite), but I don't want to unwittingly bring the virus into my home .... and all the associated stuff with infecting others. Call me paranoid, but all this is very scary - if you were in my shoes, would you accept the parcels into your home? If the postie or delivery person actually delivers the packets in to my hands, I know I can physically refuse delivery, but he/she could well just stick them through the letter box if I'm not at home ... what do you think?

When they received the parcel (car part so quite expensive), they noticed the parcel had been shipped from Wuhan (I am not kidding), they did open it. Over the course of the next few days this person started to have 'flu-like' symptoms. They were sent home from work on the orders of the company MD (who was apparently rather angry), they are now in their second week of absence, although as far as I am aware do not have Corona virus. I have no idea whether any of this is just a very bad co-incidence, though.
