I asked this in my bank the other day and because of the virus, there is no specific date yet.
they've been out since Feb! No date yet for discontinuation of the old ones.
Date to be announced but usually it is six months after new notes come into circulation.
I have a few old paper £20s and tenners that I would like to exchange for plastic ones. Will my local post office do this ?
If they haven't been discontinued yet why don't you just spend them, Derek?
For older withdrawn notes, here are the details.

Thanks everyone.
Ummmm, I didn't realise how close we are to them being discontinued.
And I'm one of the VVs ( Very Vulnerables) so haven't been out for a couple of months. Time to get a move on !

Cheers.
