Surprised it took so long. The latest rules are nothing more than a thieves' charter. I wonder how much shoplifters have got away with in the past few weeks, secure in the knowledge that they won't be caught on CCTV.

No, but the problem is with the mandatory wearing of them the robbers now dont stand out, neither are they caught on cctv. Well the ones that arn't really thick that is.

I suppose it's debatable whether the robbers (or any robbers) would keep their masks on after leaving the premises they've robbed, but I'd suggest they'd discard them so that they look like everyone else around them.

As someone said to me the other day"In the past if you went into a bank wearing a mask they'd hit the panic button. Now they call the police if you're NOT wearing one"!
