Anyone Have A Pair Of Aigle Wellington Boots?

What I want to know is do ordinary socks slip down under your foot or is it best always to wear long socks and did you order your normal shoe size?

I have three pairs.
Sock slippage depends on the sock, decent ones don't slip down, knackered no grip ones do.
They tend to be quite snug around the ankle, unless you are a skinny minny, so are better than lesser wellies.
The sole was designed in conjunction with NASA and is the best I have ever walked on...

As to the sizing thing, I take 10.5 shoes so ordered 11's as I sometimes wear a couple of pairs of chunky socks.
I find the neoprene lined ones too warm for normal days and my pair of Iso wellies sits unused for most of the year.

I have a pair of cheapish Dunlop wellies and they are useless for wearing on long walks. They were OK for plodding along with Tilly but Dylan is a different story. I want some wellies that are going to give me some support and not cause my back to ache.

Aigle seem to be the answer. Shoe size, or one size up?
I have slim legs so should be ok with the calf and ankle measurements.

You always have the option of putting an insole in so I'd go one up unless your shoe size is overly generous anyway.
They are expensive but well worth the money.

Leather-lined wellies - now there's a fetish and a half ;-)

Le Chameau were the market leaders at one time but they became so much in demand that quality slipped drastically whilst the prices climbed.
That was some years ago, what the quality is like now I don't know but people who live in their wellies, (like my son) have abandoned them.

I went one size up because I have got generous calves and short wide feet. I have never found a problem with sock slippage regardless. They are blissfully comfortable too. I have worn them for a whole day, also went to a music festival in them, was on my feet from 2pm till midnight in thick clay mud, never lost my footing and no aching feet. Mine are now 13 years old, I don't wear them so often now as the dog is old but under the mud they look like new. One of the few things that I would recommend unreservedly.
