What is the best bargain you have ever bought from a charity shop?
Mine is a bracelet I bought for 50p and when I got home I discovered it was hallmarked silver.

A decent profit was made from a Zandra Rhodes dress I found on a sale rail for £2.50 - I double checked that the lady knew what it was, she just wanted rid of it.

One of mine has to be a pair of new curtains for £8.
Cut down they were perfect for a bedroom in the new house. Some of the fabric made six cushions and there’s still lots in my stash to make bags for the charity shop.

Percentage wise, the best bargain I found was probably a first edition book I picked up in a charity shop and later sold to a dealer for 30 times what I paid for it!

Unfortunately increasing 20p to £6 wasn't quite enough to buy me a new yacht ;-)

Best comment I ever heard in a charity shop. Half a dozen or so ladies browsing the rails and shelves when a woman rushed in shouting…..Hope you can help me! I’m looking for an Action Man.

Double row of pearls, bought for breaking up for embroidery, glad I checked the clasp was platinum set with small diamonds not sure if they were natural or cultured but it didn't matter . Lost in a burglary a few years later but they were the something borrowed for a few friends weddings before that. Also a small silver bow brooch set with diamonds bought on a charity stall at a car boot sale. I knew it was silver when I bought it, only when I cleaned it I thought it was worth getting it checked. I wear it sometimes but it's a bit too dainty.

A second edition Jane Eyre. Not valuable in a financial sense but valuable to me.

Mine was a nice anorak/jacket, it cost only a few pounds and it fit perfectly and am still using it fifteen years later.
