I are lots of big loopy earrings in my time. Mary Quant and hippy style style, but pierced ears with little diamond earrings just isn't me.

My mum had pierced ears,yet only wore clip-on earnings. The piercing had closed. Back in the 60s we were all getting our ears pierced in the States. Was it the same here? Mum wasn't horrified when I got mine done.

@12:56...me too! Loads of earrings...bought in strange little hippie shops in Greenwich village.
I still have loads...plus lots of beady, dangly necklaces that now serve as decor...hanging from hooks and looking exotic.

I do that too Pasta! I'm into crystal light catchers too now. I have been trying to declutter a bit, so got rid of a lot of the beads and now cluttering again with crystals!

Alice if you want to look really trendy get a very large nose ring, a very large tongue stud, get them joined together with a big big silver chain with diamantés all over it, and you will look absolutely lovely. Send us all a photo for a good laugh.

Claim to fame alert.....
I was the first (male) pupil in my junior school to have a pierced left ear.
Circa 1978,
So much so that my headteacher at the time had
my mum called into his office to explain.

Thereafter he gave up as loads of pupils followed suit.
It was the start of the punk explosian and stuff.

Four years later, in high school, I had high school and long hair AND earings.

I actually had a teacher ask me if I was a boy or a girl........

Can't tell the difference can you now???
