Do You Wear An Apron?

When cooking and cleaning I always wear an apron. I always have done. (Just a bog standard blue and white striped butcher's type apron). Mr BM remarked earlier that he had never known anyone to wear an apron like I do.

And thinking about it, apart from my mother and grandmother, I do not recall anyone I know wearing an apron.

Does anyone else wear one?

No, but my Mum used to
Nope, never have
Yes.....Mrs sqad occasionally wears apron, bra and knickers.......not every day.
My husband always wears one, for cooking, scraping plates, washing dishes. I wear one only when I am baking - flour seems to get everywhere.
I put an apron on if I'm frying anything...not that I do much frying. :-)
No, I don't wear one, but Mrs. bb sometimes does. I don't understand all that cooking and cleaning mystery, so I don't get involved.

You do know BM that you are supposed to wear them over clothes!!
I sometimes wear one but only if I am baking or cooking something that will splatter
Yes, heavy-duty polythene one - only when dismembering.
I wear a waterproof apron when washing up. As I usually end up soaking wet!
no, never have. I sometimes get splattered but mostly just with water. Whenever I've seen one they seem to be souvenir items these days, with jokes or poems on the front.
yes, just when cooking, i have a red one and a stand up to cancer one x
Sadly, Mr BM is not accustomed to dining in posh places then...

Aprons are de rigueur here. Big pockets to collect pegs off washing lines when it decides to bucket down.

Cooking, cleaning, polishing the family silver etc., etc., etc.

I have some printed up by "friends" for birthday gifts which show my personality, but I am not listing them all here.

My favourite is emblazoned:
Jesus loves you - but I'm His favourite.

Same as Bobbs.
I've never owned an apron. Unless you count the gingham one I made at school in the 60's when we learned how to gather and attach a waist band!
When I'm frying or doing mucky jobs.
Maydup that reminds me of my first DS lesson, those aprons were like a uniform straight out of Downton Abbey :0)))
To me, aprons are something my dear Grandma used to wear. She had a friend, Bella, who made aprons as presents for everyone (even me). I think aprons (or pinnies as we called them) were all she ever sewed.
Only when its time to slaughter one of the pigs.
Yes I always do. Helps to keep splashes and cooking smells from my clothes. Mine are chefs' type aprons. No, I'm not a chef but the aprons are good.
