Hello,

Can anyone recommend a reliable and reasonably priced courier not Evri (Hermes) which I could occasionally use to deliver one or two parcels.

Thank you

DHL?
I've not used them personally, but anything I've ordered that was delivered by them has arrived on time with me being kept up to date with arrival time etc.
Royal Mail, Parcelforce, UPS

The most well-known parcel broker in the UK is probably Parcel2Go
https://www.parcel2go.com/
but there are others, such as (the unoriginally-named) ParcelBroker:
https://parcelbroker.co.uk/

When you enter the details of your consignment into a parcel broker's website, you're offered services from lots of different companies, allowing you to choose the one that's best for your needs. Even if, say, you opt for Royal Mail, you'll normally pay significantly less through a parcel broker than you'd pay at a post office counter. [NB: Check the insurance levels though. Parcel brokers tend to offer just a small level of insurance with their 'headline rates' and then offer additional insurance for an extra fee. Indeed, that's really where they make their money from].

I used to use Collect Plus and never had the slightest problem with their service. (I only stopped using them because my local Co-op store switched from being a Collect+ collection point to become a Hermes/Evri one). So they might be worth a try for you:
https://www.collectplus.co.uk/
[Note that, just as with other courier services, you can probably get lower prices for Collect Plus by going through a broker, rather than going to the firm's own website].
