I Never See Schoolgirls With Short Hair These Days

I never see any schoolgirls with short hair these days nor do I see any wearing uniform trousers. Back in the 90’s it wasn’t unusual to have short hair and many girls wore trousers.

Has anyone noticed this? Is it not cool for a girl to have short hair nowadays?

I live near a School and many Children pass in front of my abode. I haven't noticed the hair thing but some girls still wear trousers... I'm sure the weather plays a large part in that.

Yes, If you notice, England Women's teams (football/cricket/rugby etc.) all seem to have long hair these days.
I'm wondering if it is in any way due to making a statement that they are female, not trans-males? Just a thought.

Fashion does play a role, of course, but some of the fanciest braiding I have seen has been on lady Rugby players.

Both my girls were good athletes, to national standard, they both took pride in their long hair. Possibly to offset the fact that they could putt a shot much further than their average male schoolmates?

Good on your girls. I knew a girl who was a good hammer thrower, was quite a large build. This meant that on nights out in drinking contests she always won as she could consume more than the lean males who attended the sports club. She always had the same very long hair I’m wondering if I’m a way she felt she had to

Having thought about it re-reading this thread my Nieces wear both Trousers or a skirt they are at different schools now 11 and 13. (I Don't know what year that means i've as much idea as sooty) last time I saw them a few weeks ago at a BBQ 11 year old still has long hair but 13 year old has it shoulder length, not sure if that's considered short.

Despite not sharing fiveleaves 'fervent' views, I have to agree with
him/her.
I have been into MANY schools with my work over the last 4 years
and struggled to remember if any girls had long or short hair.

As fiveleaves said, it's not healthy to be paying this much attention to schoolgirls.

I noticed that all the girls look the same, long hair, short skirts with black tights even on the hottest of summer days. As they all leave school at the same time and walk past me I can’t help noticing them being slaves to the trend just as we were to our trend whenever that was!

I'll also notice make up, eyebrows, dress style vs age, or I'll be thinking 'who told them they look good in that???'...or 'I wonder where they bought that, it's exactly what I want.'

I'm not thinking schoolgirls but I do notice hairstyles when out and about - sometimes, I'd like to stop someone and ask which hairdresser they go to as I'd like my hair styled that way. Of course, it would be a tourist and she'd say Fox and Jane, New York!!
