I've just listened to this programme and missed the title of the book about stoicism which he mentioned. I wondered whether anyone on here has a note of it please. I can wait until Friday when it's repeated but would like to get a copy as soon as I can.

Can you not listen to it again on the BBC iPlayer?

Question Author

Don't know how to do that!! If you can tell me how to go about it I would be grateful.

You can listen to it now on BBC Sounds

Waiting for Godot, Samuel Beckett

I googled it and it came up with 'Waiting for Godot' by Samuel Beckett.  I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

Not something I wd read for stoicism,

but the waiting bit sort of needs stoicism, ( like waiting for it to end)

It's not Godot.

It was a book on stoicism.

You can't change what happens but you can change how you think about it.

Yes that is the book he mentioned. When he talked about Rik Mayall's death it really made me cry (and him). Very emotional.

Philosophy for Life and Other Dangerous Situations?

Ordered - expected tomorrow. Thank you all.

Helly, thank you for posting this, it's sounds like a very interesting book, so much so I've just bought the kindle edition for 99p 👍

or just borrow it from the library.

When someone gets it and reads it - can they post?

I read - "the author imagines a dream school with 12 of the most important...." and I thought - christ  this is  one to miss

( currently doing hardy: woodlanders and Agamemnon ( not by Hardy, but glummer)
