Hi Chris

I remember seeing on here that you recommended the AC Computer Warehouse for PCs, Laptops etc., - would you still recommend them ? I am thinkng of being brave and getting a new desktop but would like to buy from a recommended seller - I definitely don't want to use Currys !!

Many thanks

Hi, FBG40.

It's quite a few years since I last used AC Computer Warehouse.  (The laptop that I'm typing this on came from an eBay seller).  However I'm still confident that they'll offer decent prices and excellent service.

If I was looking for a desktop PC at the moment, I'd certainly consider this as a possibility from them:

(I note that it can be sold with either Windows 10 or 11 on it.  I'd call them to check that I'd be getting Windows 11).

My most recent desktop purchase though was on behalf of a friend, where I got him a cracking good computer, at an excellent price, from an organisation called Digital Pipeline.  It's a charity which recycles computers to be sent to Africa but they also make money for their projects from selling recycled/rebuilt computers here in the UK.

As long as you don't need a very large SSD (i.e. you won't be storing loads of big video files, etc), this is what I'd go for from them.  At £85 (with free carriage), for a remarkably well-specified Windows 11 machine, it's probably unbeatable!

Thanks for all the info - much appreciated.

If you decide to go with Buenchico’s recommendation from AC Computer Warehouse, remember to add the PCIe internal Wi-fi card (at £35) from the peripherals dropdown menu if you want to connect to your router wirelessly.

Otherwise check the PC spec to include integrated Wi-fi.
