Dores Anyone Know What This Means Please?
I've just had a panel pop up on my screen that says:
K-Lite Update Checker.
You are currently using version 18.6.0 (Basic) of the K-Lite Codec Pack
Does anyone know what this means please? I haven't got a clue. Never heard of it. TIA.

I guess you have them already installed and there's an update you might like ?
Just to add to what's already been said . . .
Videos are recorded using different 'codecs' (for compressing, and then decompressing, the signals). If you've not got the correct codec on your computer when you try to play a video, you'll get an error message.
The Basic version of the K-Lite Codec Pack contains all of the most common codecs. (You've either downloaded and installed it deliberately or, possibly more likely, it came bundled with video software on your computer). As new codecs are constantly being evolved, it's theoretically a good idea to keep it fully up to date but, in practice, most videos that you'll encounter will still be using older codecs anyway.
I periodically get the same message that you've been seeing. I normally just cancel it but, if I'd been experiencing problems with playing videos (or possibly with audio files), I'd be happy to go head with the update.
