Mouldy leather jackets

I just dug out mine and Mr Cat's old leather jackets from the cupboard and they are really mouldy. Well it's more kinda furry! Any idea what this would be? I don't think they were damp when put away (though it was very long time ago) and nothing else in the cupboard, jackets, hats etc are damp or furry.

Its definitely mould! Get them to a specialist leather cleaner quick! Mu mum had a fabulous leather coat ruined by mould. :o(
