Baby Annabell/My First Annabell
Not too sure if I'm in the right section but hope a mother of girls can help. Santa gave my niece a Baby Annabell doll for Christmas and I thought I would buy her some clothes for it for her birthday. I started by buying a dress off e-bay to fit My First Annabell not knowing that there was a difference between the two dolls (I have 3 boys and not used to the finer points of dolls and their accessories!). I'm trying to sort out the problem with the dress but as I would also like to do some knitting for her I don't want the same problem again. If I use a baby pattern, can anyone tell me what size chest I should knit? Looking at the different web sites I gather one doll measures 46cm and the other 36cm but these are the only dimensions I can find.
Thanks for any help, I don't want to disappoint her on her birthday by giving her something that doesn't fit her doll.

jas1002 - I wanted it to be a surprise for my her birthday and didn't want to ask my sister-in-law to measure the doll unless I really needed to. As they don't live near me I haven't actually seen the doll to make an educated guess.
meltoadhall - I have a lot of wool and patterns and as I like to knit as a hobby it seemed a good way of using it up. I didn't know whether I should knit for a premature baby but as you say 0-3 months will fit, that gives me a good idea what I'm aiming for.
Thanks again
Hello Curiosity,
Good idea, my sister-in-law has been doing just that! As I wanted to use up a stock of baby wool I bought a couple of pattern books and first knit a dress in size 15-18". When sewn up it was too small and actually fits a 14" doll perfectly (First Annabell size). I'm now in the middle of knitting an outfit in size 19-22" and this size will fit Baby Annabell. I don't think my knitting is tight, but then I've never done a tension check! It is something to bear in mind if you are planning to knit for Annabell.
