Cans of Juice in Luggage

Is it safe to take cans of juice in your luggage if your going abroad (my friend wants some Irn-Bru taken over to New Zealand) or am I best to keep it in my hand luggage?

i would keep it in your hand luggage,the temps in the hold of a plane are very cold and with the pressure they might leak onto your clothes.

The pressure difference (between the inside of the can and the outside) is far greater in the hold than it is in the cabin, so it would seem that the cabin would be best.

Theoretically, if you're taking any sort of 'foodstuff' into New Zealand (including drinks) you have to go through the red channel and declare it (but I doubt that they'll lock you up if you don't!):

Every piece of luggage, including all hand and handbags, including umbrellas (there may be undesirables in the tubing) is scanned on arrival at NZ. Whether one goes thru the red or green channel matters not for everyone ends up at the scanner.

I have no idea what Irn-Bru is but best leave it at home. If its strange to NZ (given that your friend can't get it in NZ) it surely will be picked up.
