2 pin to 3 pin uk converter adaptor

Anyone now where i can buy an adapter for european appliances so that they can be used in UK sockets? So it needs to convert from to pins to our standard 3 pins.

I'm looking to purchase it in-store as i need it quite quick rather than waiting for delivery.

Try a good pc supplies / repairs store - should have one as there are a lot of 2 pin leads for appliances - ask for a 'Euro 2 pin to UK 3 pin converter'

Some good luggae shops have adapters as well and may well have the converter - depends where you live as a larger town will be more likely to have visitors that may want a 2 to 3 pin plug. -

or just re-wire the appliance . . . .

In my experience with some of these adapters, although they have a UK "earth" pin, there is no contact to this pin. In other words, if you attach certain earthed European plugs to one of these adapters, there is no earth contact to the UK wall socket. This certainly applies to Belgian plugs which have an earth recess rather than an earth pin.

unlikely to need an Earth connection though. I'm guessing that it's for a video or something. Home electronics. You wouldn't buy a fridge from France would you?

If it's one of the small Euro plugs, rather than a round one it won't be earthed anyway.

Also, you can just wedge the 2 pins into the bottom 2 holes on a UK socket, but I wouldn't advise it.
