present for a boyfriend

my bf mentioned a little while ago that he'd quite like something from me that he can wear around his neck, but something that means something rather than just any old thing.
it would go on a black cord, so i am just looking for the pendant part. [and quite a small one]
i want something a silvery colour [or pewter or something] that looks a bit worn/dirty..not really shiny or anything.
I'd quite like it if it was like a present from a girlfriend [something 'lovey' perhaps, but not too lovey...and not somthing that anyone could've given him] i also want it to be kinda "cool" too...not something really soppy and girly, although some soppyness is ok!

he's 20 and into the punk/alternative scene, so it's quite hard to find something...but he is also the romantic type!

I know it's probably hard for someone to think of something because they don't know him, but i would love any help! it's really hard for me to think of something and to find something

does anyone have any ideas of what i could give him? and where to get it from?

would be good if it didn't cost too much as i have absolutely no money at the moment! and would prefer it if i could get it from the internet as the shops around me are useless

really need some help on this!

also...i know its like 4 months away, but any ideas for a christmas present for him? i'm useless at presents and want to get him something really good this year but need people's help!

you could always get him a dog tag and get it engraved with something written on?
topshop might sell some plain ones, or a alternative style jewellery shop.

as for christmas presents you could get him a ring, like a rough style one with a wave pattern on or something - you can get these from places like topshop or next.

Maybe some perfume spray stuff? i dont know what they call guys perfume! They have some nice ones in superdrug and boots - the calvin Klein one is quite nice, and the Davidoff ones too (smell them first though as some of the sprays are disgusting!).

he already has a ring that i got him before, and aftershave's not really the kinda thing i want...i want something really good and something that isn't just the usual guy's present...it's hard to say exactly what i mean though as i can't think of any examples
he already has cool water and echo too...as i told him early on that they were my faves =P

Get yourself to the lanes around Camden Lock and Market. They sell many great one off pieces like this on the stalls and shops.

get yourself on e-bay and search for "heartagram" its the logo of the band HIM and they do some really cool stuff. the band are pretty good too...
