Hi bit of a daft question but I want to make my Sister a retro box for her birthday � basically this will be a collection of little presents (ideally one for every year) so far I have bought the Mr Benn DVD and the Flumps DVD. But can anyone tell me since 1978 to now what has been there most missed things: be it a show, sweets, clothing etc � it may give me some ideas for other presents.

Also does anyone know of any stores online that deal in retro style things? Thanks xx

You could purchase smaller versions of these (Like what you get in a Christmas cracker) they are avalible in nearly all toy shops!!

Legwarmers are trendy for Autumn/Winter so a pair of those for mid 80's.

She's about the same age as me so how about a My Little Pony or She-Ra Doll (try car boot sales or Ebay). Ebay has a whole section on "Retro" stuff

Flying saucer or Sherbert Dib-dab sweets. Or how about Popping candy

If you can, get her a Space Hopper. I loved mine. You can still get them in The Gadget Shop (they have an online store too)

A pot of Play-Doh or green slime (can be found in most toy shops for next to nothing)

There is a great clothing website called TruffleShuffle, can't remember if its .com or .co.uk but they sell T-shirts and clothes with your favourite 80's movies, characters or bands on (Muppets, Goonies, Strawberry Shortcake, Fraggles, Thundercats, that sort of thing)

Many thanks :-) love the space hopper idea and thanks for all the other suggestions ha ha - its really hard to remember what we loved as kids and would still be fun to have now :-)

Get some retro games such as twister, hungry hippo, operation, they are classics and now also come in mini keyring versions.

My fav was always Screwball Scramble - a table top game with a maze theme.

There are lots of other sites over the web selling retro sweet just google it as some of the gift boxes are quite cool with added extras.

Which are all cool I can recommend the site, customerservice and delivery.

There is a shop in plymouth and exeter called 'Pumpkin' which sells retro things including alot of little items which would be great for your box but i cannot find them on the web and I do not know where else they are based??

my brother and sister used to love 'chorlton and the wheelies', 'the clangers', 'the herbs' and 'bagpuss'
also 'kerplunk' was a great game!

what a fab idea surreygirl, what about a rubix cube , theres a cd out at the mo lets hear it for the girls i think its called theres lots of girly songs on there from a liitle while back to that u know doubt used to sing n dance to when u was younger ! might bring back some memories or im sure thres lots of other cds like that to
