my friend enjoyed reading 'Life of Pi' and 'Girlfriend in a Coma'...can you suggest other books she might like (i'm looking for ideas for Christmas)

I've just finished 'My brother wears puffin shoes'. It was v good - cant remember the publisher. will find out for you. FYI, I liked Life of Pi.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night. V good and it feels like a similar type of book to Pi

You could try Murakami - Norwegian Wood or his collection of short stories. His style of writing is (I think) simallar to Coupland.

Martin Millar - 'Lux the Poet', 'The Good Fairies of New York', and also 'Milk, Sulphate & Alby Starvation' are maybe worth checking out...

try Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, I think it is similar in many ways to Girlfriend in a Coma, and I absolutely loved it.
