Emo hair style (lancashire)

im in the process of growing my hair long and eventually i want the classic emo hairstyle (long fringe, short spikey back, black ect.)
i went to my barbers but she doesn't know what to do to make that style. i would like to know:

a) how long does it take to grow your hair to about the tip of nose level?

b) does anyone know of anywhere in lancashire who knows what an emo style is and will do it?

c) links to good pictures of emo hairstyles?

already tried that...doesnt help one bit, neither does it help in finding a decent barbers!

What I sometimes do is look around while at the shops and when I see someone who has the style I really like and it is done well I ask them if they would mind telling me who their hairdresser is. I have found some brilliant hairdressers like that ... and people do not usually mind as it is a compliment.

I've got kinda emo hair - short at the back & spiked up with a longer fringe - all really dark brown with a bright red flash under the fringe!!.....did the colour myself but the cut was done at just an ordinary hair dressers - try a salon rather than a barber, a bit more expensive but could be worth it!

also, hair grows at about a quarter of an inch a month - so depending on how long your hair is now it should grow from eyebrow level to nose in approx 3-4 months!
