I'm going to a really important informal gathering on Saturday, all the blokes are wearing jeans and a smart casual shirt. I need to impress with lables, sad I know, I'm not really a label person. Can anyone tell me the most impressive label for a man's shirt, button up with collar and long sleeves.

I would suggest Prada - very stylish and not as posey as the likes of Gucci

Try Yoox.com if buying online. They have a really nice bottle green one for 105.00

Or maybe Marc Jacobs
If you want a label but not as expensive as Prada, you could try Reiss.

Depends what type of 'label' House of Fraser have a good selection at reaonable prices & as a ps will they all be that shallow to check out your label? If you live in a city why not try a new designer who may be original & not too expensive if you say you'll name drop. You may even set a new trend!!
Oxfam - very stylish stuff.
Why would you want to go to a party with such a bunch of ponces you need to impress with a label? Make your excuses and do something else with your time.
Dry Clean Only
GEORGE by Asda.

Thanks All.

MORELLO - I agree but it's a long story, one for body and soul I fear.
Funky Moped - Nothing wrong with George but I am starting to have concerns about the people who are making these cheap clothes, unsure which way I lean on that one.
trackcab - chocolate fireguard springs to mind.
Everclean - Correct answer, wrong question.
extra large
Prada/Gucci etc are very chavvy (especially if it has a massive lable plastered over the front, a much safer bet is to go to TM Lewin a proper shirt maker. Shirts start from around 60 up to tailor made ones for a few hundred.
Wayne Kerr
R's Liqor?

Hugo Boss do really nice shirts at around the 80 mark.
Very stylish and no silly label which is a bonus.
Armarni shirts are also excellent quality with only a discreet label at the bottom.
IMO quality stands out, so forget the brand name, who gives a s**t anyway?
Have fun.
you can't go wrong with an FCUK shirt.
But, most women can't tell the difference between makes as they don't have labels visable.
Wear something that you feel comfortable in. Don't go to buy something expensive and poncy to please your mates, a woman will always go for a guy who looks confident - you won't look like that if your worrying about spilling something on your nice new expensive shirt all night long!
I'm with Admarlow - I usually wear TM Lewin.

I also love Thomas Pink and casual shirts from Hackett.

Never had any luck with Armani - I think they are smart but I've had found they wear badly.
