Going to my local Tesco STRESSES ME OUT(!), so I'm thinking about doing my shopping on line. Has anyone tried it? Good? Bad?

it is good & much easier - but - if they dont have something in stock they substitue it for something similar/the same thing but different brand!

depends on wether that would bother you!

hope this helps!
I do my grocery shopping online every week. I've used Sainsburystoyou.co.uk, tesco.com (most recently) ocado.com (waitrose).

They're all good. Sites are pretty easy to navigate. All collate lists of your usual purchases, making it quicker to pick your every day stuff (milk, bread etc).

There will be discrepancies. A missed item, an item you didn't order at all (freebie!) a crushed item (Ii've received shopping packed with the bread at the bottom of the bag, potatoes at the top), but most will refund you quite happily.
But mistakes are only occassional, and any inconvenience far outways the misery of struggling round the supermarket, queuing, getting it home etc.

I wouldn't be without it!
Sorry, it's not too clear - I use ocado the most now. Probably slightly more expensive but (I feel) a better organic range/better farming policies. But that's just my own personal choice!

Cheers folks. I shop at Tesco 99% of the time (but have tried Sainsburys, but not as good).

Excuse e if this sounds stupid, but are the on-line prices the same as the in-store ones? Do they charge for delivery?

Thanks
Its 4.95 Mon till Thurs. 5.95 Fri Sat Sun.The freebies MMS was refering to will be the person befores order thats fell into yours. Not so good if you are the person beforeI got really sick of missed items. You have to phone and explain whats missing. I felt as though I was trying to get something for free when I phoned them. The day 36 pts of milk went missing was the last time I used them.I`m in the North East maybe customer service is better your way.

Thanks
Well i am waiting for my Tesco online shopping right now and it is 1 hour late so i am not very happy. Usually its ok though but make sure you choose not to have substitutions cos they sometimes make stupid mistakes with them i.e. substituting a 0.99p cat litter freshener with a 5.49 bag cat litter. Everything else is good theres a pretty wide range of stuff and some good offers!

Thanks. I may well try it this week.
I always use it... Never had a problem before

I use Tesco for 'live' shopping as its close but for online shopping, I use Asda. I used Tesco twice and they messed it up twice. I rung customer services twice and they were rude twice!

Asda have always been spot on and when they substitute something, the normally price match. Meaning that if you order say Asda chocolate biscuits and they havent got any, they will give you McVities chocolate biscuits for the same price as Asdas.

Also, if you look around the internet, you can normally find a code for free delivery. Ive never paid for delivery. Theres always some sort of offer on.

If it helps, the current codes for free delivery are.
M4-FD-CL-EP
M4-HB-FD-22
minimum spend is 35 and the first one expires end of Oct, the second one end of Nov.

You can only use them once though. So do a months shop in one go if you can! You dont have to pick it, pack it or carry it home!

Thanks. If I shop on-line can I still claim my Tesco Clubcard points?
Yes you can.
Question Author
OK, thanks - how do I claim them?
I cant remember. Its been a while like i said. But when you register, i think they ask for your clubcard number then.

Hi
I shop on line every week, it is so easy. I have found that ASDA is best though, their substitutions are better and delivery is cheaper. Give it a go, if u dont like it u dont have to do it again!
I have used Tesco in Stockton loads of times. Its really good. Sometimes something gets damaged or missed but every time I have phoned up about they recredit the money without question. I once had a takeaway curry where one of the sauces spilt. I got a full refund but the rest of the curry was fine. Good one Tesco!!
