I just admitted to LostBoy that I still have my Teddy Bear. A bit worse for wear/well loved with sewn on paw patches and clothes someone made *** years ago.
Also Teddy Fred wears a pair of dungarees my mum made for him and a jumper I knitted him when I was 8. Prior to this he used to wear dresses but was still called Fred. He sits beside my bed, just in case I need him. He is well travelled as I took him to India and USA with me, and have the photos to prove it, how sad!!!!
Of course ! - I'll never get rid of my teddy, he came to me on my 6th birthday, a bit late as the postman was later than normal (my mum said) my parents got him with embassy cigarette coupons, so I can imagine my poor old dad smoking like crazy beforehand ! Teddy hasn't ever been given a name funny enough, he's now 39 - something which I'd never really though of before until warpig1 mentioned age.
I had a Golly named Man who just disappeared one day when i was about 4. I miss him terribly and hope that whoever found him gave him a good loving home.
No other teddies survived in a house with 3 younger siblings.
My youngest sis has got some teddies still about but my son seems to have claimed them as his own :)
I have Teddy (original huh), who was made for me before I was born, he has a little yellow jumpsuit on my mum knitted for him. His head keeps needing to be sewn back on now though.
I've also got another gorgeous bear which my friend got me and gave to me at a surpise party for my 17th birthday.
I have mickey the monkey, he has a bleach stain on his head, and he rattles He is 30 years old.
My mum went to hospital in Adelaide and we couldnt visit her as we lived in the outback, she said she found him and could I look after him, awww!
I keep giving him to my 4 yr old daughter, but he doesnt want to go.....he told me !! :-))
I dont have a teddy but I do have my Tiny Tears and my barbie - they must be 40 years old now. I wont throw them out but my teenage daugther did try once!!
