What to wear?
36 Answers
I am going for an interview at a University on Wednesday and don't know what to wear.I am going to be applying for a place in their primary school teaching course.I don't want to go over the top and wear a ladies suit that makes me look thirty something but I don't want to look scruffy either. Is it ok to wear black knee high boots with a bottcut jeans and a long sleeved dark green top.It does not look scruffy but it is not business like either.

My parents think what I wear does not matter and am just being paranoid.I am really worried about what I should wear.I tried on a black trousers and it made me look really old! I want to look young and friendly. If I came wearing something not very smart but at the same time not scruffy would they decide against me on that basis?

Had to post another answer in case you are actually being serious - in the name of all that is good and holy, PLEASE do not even consider going into teaching. There are no children on this planet who are bad enough to deserve coming into contact with someone as short of empathy and warmth as you, leaving aside the obvious shortcomings of your own education
The fact I have travelled quite a few hours on the train shows I am serious about the place and want it.It takes the same amount if effort to put on jeans then it does to put on black trousers! And I am only 17 I don't want to look business like! What kind of questions will they ask?Does anyone know
i thought you were at uni already, training to be a doctor? Anyway, that aside, i dont think there is anything wrong with, say, black jeans for a uni interview (although i am interested in what bottcut is, does it men your botty will be hanging out??)
I think that interveiwers should be more interested in your personal qualities that what you are wearing (as long as you are not wering nything outrageous) Do you have any personal qualities then?

and yeah, sitting for a few hours on a train must conclusivley prove you are going to be a great dedicated teacher. Dont know why they are bothering to interview you really, you should just list on your cv "i have the ability to sit on a train". My god, if that dosent make them want you, i dont know what will!
