catalogue purchases

i have recently paid the first installment to a cataloge for a mobile for my daughter for christmas, i know you can usually return things if within 14 days, can you return items, if unused, unboxed etc after the 14 days and if you've already started to pay for it as well?????

I`ve looked on my catalogue site and mobiles are only given a 7 day return policy.
