Would you buy a wedding dress off ebay?

Just wondering if anyone has bought one or is thinking about buying one especially the ones that come from China and made to your measurements?

Delivery was quite fast, but she did have a bit of trouble with the carriers, as they insisted on delivering to her home address (she works full-time) and having signature. So use a work address (if you have one).
The dress was just as the picture and description. The material wasn't absolute top quality, but adequate (for a wedding dress). The workmanship seemed quite good. It fitted her OK, so they seemed to have stuck to the measurements! The only (slight) downer was that it didn't look as stylish as in the pic, but I suppose that's true for anything you buy by mail order.
Overall, she was happy with it, and it was great value for money.

I would strongly advise you not to buy one of the ebay china ones - my friend did and it almost ruined her big day
Why not try to see if there are any shops near you that specialise in second hand wedding dresses? I know some may be old but many people nowadays are giving their dresses away and you can pick up some lovely modern ones easily
If it helps my dress cost 500 - brand new - from a proper shop - i had deliberated over spending 1800 on a dress - but i saw sense and on the day my dress was just fab and i never thought about the more expensive one once!!
Good luck

I bought my dress at an estate sale shop. It was a L600 dress which I paid about L7.50 for (it had been marked down a few times) and it's in perfect shape, complete with swarovski-encrusted veil. Doesn't _quite_ fit perfectly but for that price I'll have it altered. Check secondhand shops, definitely.
Another option is to try the Oxfam bridal shops. Before you think this is a joke, they now have shops with great ex-stock brand new dresses - over 95 per cent of the dresses sold are brand new, and originate from catwalk shows and high-end wedding retailers. Sizes range from 8 to 24, so theres something to suit everyone. You can also get your shoes, veil and tiara from them. Youmight get a fab bargain (no-one need know where it came from) and you get the feel-good factor of giving money to a great charity. They have shops all over the place - see the website for details - http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/highstreet/bridal .htm
