Nintendo Wii & Game Cube games
10 Answers
I know that you can play the Game Cube games on the Wii console, but do you have to buy anything extra to play these games?
Do you need to buy the 'classic' controller, or can you use the Wii remote ( I know the movement stuff won't work, but just the basics like directions etc)?
Any advice much appreciated!

My advice would be to get a Gamecube controller.
The reason for this is, you can use this controller for most classic games and also for all Cube games.
You'll probably find yourself buying a few Cube games to tide you over, until the next lot of Wii games comes along. There are quite a few you might be interested in:
Mario Kart Double Dash (play it with two or three others, to enjoy it most)
Resident Evil One Remake and Resident Evil 4
F-Zero GX
Pikmin 1 or 2
