Fairy lights

I got a set of fairy lights from a friend , He was throwing them out, but said they would do for spares.Ther is 80 lights and there is 3 wires connecting them together on 1 end is a small plastic capwhere all the wires areset in a resin like substance . There is nothing on the other end where the plug had been .How are the lights wired up & how is the plug wired the wires are all one colour Anyone help

Yeah, the safest thing would be to chuck em out. Be a shame to burn your house down to save 3 quid.
