Any ideas for a present? Looking on Internet and they are all a bit tacky and cheesy. I haven't got a great deal to spend as I have already ordered cake for both and flowers for Mum. Immediate family going out for dinner. Just wanted to present them with something they could keep but only want to spend about 50. At their age, they don't really want for anything either - please help!

There is a rose bush called Ruby Wedding.
A digital photo frame. You can get them for about 50 now, you could put on the memory card photos of their wedding, family holidays, grandchildren etc.......
A slide show can be set up so they can have a different photo to look at whenever and it stops them having loads of photos all over the place!

Wish them all the best from me
Hi, I like to try and get unusual presents for my family and friends and a daily Newspaper from the day they were married is quite a good idea. If you type in OLD NEWSPAPERS into your browser you will find lots and all different prices, they come gift boxed aswell. I hope that helps.
i had a friend whose parents wanted for nothing so they were really hard to buy for, so she sponsored a dog for a year as they loved dogs but were unable to have one. they received photos and updates about the dog and they liked the idea so much that they continued with the sponsorship themselves for this year. i think it was advertised on tele but sorry cant remember who with, maybe someone else knows. maybe this might help others who have someone hard to but for.

Thanks for all your ideas, they are great - got to choose one now!! Hope this helps others in the same predicament.
How about a bird feeder, maybe one of those poles with feeders hanging down. You could get the bird food aswell. Something like this http://www.wildbird.org/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=102 &strPageHistory=cat
My friend and I were struggling for ideas for a ruby present for a colleague who didnt really want for anything either. they love their garden and were going on holiday so we clubbed together, got some Euros. We bought a small shrub like tree with dainty branches, rolled the notes up individually and tied them to the branches of the shrub with red ribbon. they were thrilled, perhaps you could adapt by using five pound notes, they could choose something themselves.Enjoy their special day.
How about a years National Trust or RHS Membership? I gave my Mother & father in law a years membership of The National Trust and they really enjoyed the 'free' days out for the rest of the year.
If you want a different, although 'useless' gift - last year we were trying to think of a gift for a golden wedding and someone suggested buying a small plot of land (you can do it through WHSMith online) in Scotland and the recipients become the Laird and Lady of....... They receive a certificate for their square foot of land and a map showing where their plot is. I thought it was a great idea as by the time you've been married 40/50 years, you really have everything you want and this gift doesn't need dusting or looking after or clutter up the house.
Forgot to say, it cost about 30.
