Redecorating my bedroom
3 Answers
I am in the process of doing up my house and need ideas for the spare bedroom. I want to do it something really funky, I would ideally like a neutral carpet and everything black and white, but for one problem - I have inherited some fitted furniture which is a dark browny colour (not as dark as mahogany).
Painting or replacing this is not an option (I can't afford to replace it at the minute and it's not the kind of stuff that you can paint - anyway I don't really want to!), so what other colour schemes could I go with (I am young so would like something young and striking), I have a raspberry coloured carpet in it but I could replace it with a neutral coloured one, so the scheme could go with either of these two colours?
Basically:
1. Has to be young and funky (this is most important!)
2. Has to go with darkish brown furniture
3. Has to go with raspberry or neutral carpet

How about staying with neutral carpet and colour on the walls then buying a funky duvet set and cushions and a throw for the bed possibly a really colourfull rug to add pzazz to the floor and one or two really funky pictures for the walls or even better do them yourself, ever so easy, then they will match your duvet and things. Just an idea.
Hi starship, Crown paints do some really nice colours. How about behind the bed with Crown Mojito which is a light lime green colour and the rest of the walls and ceiling with Crown fine silk which is slightly off white. Then to incorporate your wardrobes buy a quilt that is lime green, chocolate and cream. But be careful not to overdo the green colour. If not try Crown choc chip colour and cream then add an accent colour with your bedding, one that is really bold. Tie it all together with your accessories. Hope this helps. Good luck.
