I had a card from the Post Office which said there was an item to collect at the local office that had underpaid postage. If I wanted it, I would have to pay 1.06. I went to collect it, and who was it from? The Post Office! What do you make of that?

Bloody genius. I can't believe they didn't think of it sooner!

Hardly a case for 'Watchdog'... or is it??? How many could they send?
The day after the envelope size changes came in I drove 2 miles to get an understamped envlp. (When I got it home my son said he didn't want it anyway!). I moaned to the guy that the PO should have had a day or twos grace during these changes. I paid and he handed over the big envelope which hadn't even had the stamp franked. I mentioned this in a mad moment b4 it was quite on my side which then resulted in a tug of war for the envelope!!! He had his pen in his hand the officious little !*@$ but I won. I went home and steamed it off too!!! My husband said we must have looked like a couple of kids but dont these people just get you this way??
love that image! Like something from One Foot In The Grave

im surprised that the person behind the counter made you pay because it was from the post office.
The Post Office went downhill after I left
There are four people myself included who live within 1/4 mile of each other all with different surnames and addresses, the one thing we have in common is house number. Not a week has gone by for months that we haven't received each others mail.We have complained but just given up and now deliver ourselves. One way of getting to know people in the neighbourhood I suppose!!
ELVIS68 - What was your job in the PO ?
Bazile....Postman..why?
I work for The Royal Mail Group as well
Since I moved into this house, numerous important documents, bank cards, parcels etc. haven't arrived here. I emailed RM, to say that I wasn't receiving items, and apparently I have to fill out a p58 form...But I don't want to claim for individual mail, I want to complain that I am not receiving a vast proportion of my mail. How many bl**dy forms do they want me to fill out in this case? There's some mail I am not even aware I should be receiving, so how do I complain about mail I don't know about??
It's like travelling in circles!

argh!!!!
