Help! I need to cut down on my tights bill. I am a largish lady - size 16 and 6ft tall. I normally wear Wolford tights as they are nice and stretchy and long enough in the leg..........but they are SO expensive. Are there any ABers out there in the same sort of size range as me (ladies only please, before any of you chaps take up the thread) who can suggest cheaper, but still good quality alternatives?

I've never bought them myself but Evans sell tights. Evans start at size 16, and as you are tall they may well suit you.
Just out of interest - why would you need tights at this time of year? I certainly haven't worn any since March!

Call me old fashioned, but unless it's a heatwave (which we certainly aren't having at the moment) I like to wear tights to work. Also, I suffer from poor circulation in my legs and this is made worse if my legs get cold.
MyTights.co.uk has a tall section, but I dont know about the sizing and I've never tried them. There seem to be alot of brand names there, though.

Not much help am i?

Have you tried Silkies tights? They dont scag or run and last forever! Google "Silkies tights".

try Evans, but make sure you get the right size or Maltalan

Thanks for all your replies, they've given me a few more avenues to try. I have tried Silkies a few years ago, but they kept bombarding me with pairs that I hadn't ordered.
I am famously mean. If I ladder 1 leg of a pair of tights I cut the leg off at the top of the thigh and wait for the same thing to happen to another pair. You then have 2 legs and 2 pairs of pants. You just put the both pairs on. Obviously they have to be the same colour but it does save money.
Kunert from Germany are on a par with Wolford and a lot cheaper.
I get my Kunert tights at http://www.uktights.com
My fav are the satin look

Hope this helps
