Hey people! Those of you who were here a coupla years ago know that I went to New York, and bugged you all senseless with questions before hand. Well I'm taking another bite and here is the second of my doubtless many questions (see Travel for the 1st)....

Anyone know of any clothes stores in New York that cater for the Rubinesque lady?

Lane Bryant is th emost popular plus size ladies shop in most of the U.S. You;ll find that all department stores will have a good selection for real women...

The Avenue, Ashley Stewart, Catherine's, Dress Barn Woman, and Fashion Bug Plus. These stores are found mostly in malls or smaller neighborhoods. Where in NY will you be visiting?

Most Department stores have "Plus Size' or women's departments. Stores like Macy's, Lord and Taylor, ans Sach's Fifth Avenue.

If you have the time go to the bus station in New York [ called the Port Authority dont ask me why!] and take the bus to PARAMUS [they pronounce PERAMUS] in NJ, its about a 45 min ride [ bus fare is cheap] and you get to see Soprano country, and the bus driver will give you a timetable for the return journey about every 30 mins] and show you where to wait for the bus etc, they are very friendly, you want the Florida Mall.Spend a happy retail therapy day there, there are lockers too so you dont have to carry all your purchases around all day], you will find all sizes in the big stores, the XL dept is usually billed as WOMENS, under that size is called MISSES and what the real skinny ones are called I dont know.Have fun wherever you shop.
