Disposable Shoes

Hi abers! Know that someone out there will be able to assist. I am looking for lightweight disposable shoes. Part of my job entails looking after people who have been evacuated due to some sort of an emergency, e.g. residents of flats/appartments after a fire etc. Sometimes this happens during the night, and can often mean that people come out in the street in nightclothes and no footwear. I have scoured the internet, and have found PVC shoe covers and disposable flip flop type slippers. But because of Health & Safety I really need something closed in, like a shoe, and non-slip Also because budgets are fairly limited, they must be fairly inexpensive. Anyone got any ideas?

Now this should be the ideal question for me to give you the benefit of my working for 63 years in the retail shoe trade. But I confess, I am lost for words.

You need to buy crocs, or fake crocs I should say. You can buy fake crocs from places that sell cheap shoes. I have seen them for about �4.99 a pair. They are ugly looking plastic shoes and come in bright colours like pink, green, yellow, orange etc. They are meant to be very comfortable and are quite popular. I am surprised you have not heard of them. They will be suitable for what you are looking for.

Thanks ShoeShop and Curry King. I might approach the manufacturers of "Crocs" to see if they would do approx 500 pairs, varying sizes (including kids) at a much reduced rate. Now you see my problem!!

How about plimsols the black or white shoes you had to wear for P.E. at school they are used to be quite cheap (about �2) when i worked in a shoe shop a few years ago.

I work in hospital and we have these foam little shoes for the patients that have no slippers. They are closed in. If you can imagine those little trainer socks/pop sock type thing they are like that but made of foam.

FUZZYBEE. I've spoken to our local hospital and they don't use anything like that. Would you happen to know of a web address for your suppliers that I could try?
