feeling stressed now that the worst is passed
7 Answers
I wonder why I am feeling the worst stress after having come through almost 2 years of hell, even though things are much better.
I pulled double duty at work for 8 months then had to help orientate a new manager for the job I applied for but didn't get. Had 2 surgeries this year, car accident and then my husband losing income for more than 2 months due to an injury.
Things are getting better but I've never felt worse. I can't sleep so I take over-the counter sleep aids and I dream terrible dreams about being a failure. I grind my teeth.
We're over the worst. Why am I feeling so bad?

Now everything is just catching up with you and because things have slowed down you're starting to think about how terrible a time it was.
I read somewhere that a lot of people who work hard get ill at weekends or when they start their holidays because once they relax all the things they've been ignoring get a chance to creep up. Probably a similar sort of thing with you.
i know it's awful to feel like this but you're obviously not a failure because you have coped with all these difficult times, and you'll get through this too.
Talk to someone if you feel able, it will help and if you really feel it overwhelming you it might be worth a word with your GP. Try to find time to give yourself little treats - they don't have to be expensive, just little pleasures - buy a Wispa and eat it in the bath!
Hope you start to feel better soon. Take care. x

I know how you feel - I have had an awful year too and I feel exactly the same - very low and fed up. I agree it seems odd when the worst is over to feel so awful. I take a day at a time and hope I will feel better soon. I think that walking is really good to ift your mood.
PS A Wispa is a yummy chocolate bar!!

please try not to think to much into your own feelings now. concentrate on possitive times, now and your future try to take up a sport or activity or even get a massage or find something pleasurable that consumes your concious and subconcious mind its far more self healing than the negative experience you have been through you learnt a lot now put it behind you and think about what you can take up to relax involve family or friends good luck think possitive and treat every day as your last enjoy god bless
