Play.com - why?

If I post a letter today, 9 times out of 10 it will get to its destination in the UK, with 1st class, next day.

So why when Play.com post a DVD on the 24th, 2 days later im yet to receive it?

Does not make sense. Any ideas??

They don't come from the UK mainland in many cases. Most of the ones I get are postmarked from Jersey.

Jersey is part of the channel islands and not classed as uk mainland

to quote wikipedia, lol

ha i actually contradicted myself saying theyre not part of the mainland. that'll teach me to read my posts before i submit them! now ive read it again i now i have no idea. I always thought they took longer because its part of the channel islands! doh!

well I ordered on the 23rd, and my accounts shows posted on the 24th. whenever I have order from them it has always taken 3 days from order to delivery, so delivery should have been today...really

I've always had good fast service with orders from Play.com., so would imagine it's as Ethel has said - post slow due to backlog since the strike..

play.com comes from hong kong
well did when i bought from it earlier this year.
the backlog from the posties extended holiday /strike
is having a knock on effect im sure .


or maybe the postie saw the envelope .knew it was a dvd or cd .
and took it home ???

ive ordered hundreds of dvds and cds form play.com, never had a problem. Must be slow post.

CD WOW froms Hong Kong
PLAY.COM stuff under �18 goes from Jersey, stuff over �18 goes from a warehouse outside of Heathrow airport!
DVD.CO.UK ships from Oxfordshire for over �18 and from Switzerland for everything else

To be honest I've been using DVD.CO.UK for about 2 years now since noticing there prices are cheaper than PLAY / CD WOW / AMAZON etc, and their stuff somehow turns up so much quicker!

Try CD universe from the states - even with post it still works out cheap - and it doesn't take any longer than 101cd from Jersey to arrive. Order a few at a time as each extra cd is only a dollar extra postage.
