Phillip green as an indiviual can own as many enterprises as he wishes as long as he does not try to merge them in to his arcadia group. this is when there is the possibility for the monolies commision to investigate. Also it would be hard for the monopolies commision to investigate as all his other companies are all clothes retailers whereas M&S sells food and other products. So he would not have over 25% of the same market place.
