What equipment do I need to buy to transfer my videos to dvd

I'm looking to buy a recordable dvd player but want to get the right one for transferring my videos to dvd. Is it possible to do this if I bought a combi video and recordable dvd player? I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help

You already have a video player and it is pointless buying another.

Simply buy a dvd recorder and hook it up to the tv and video.

That's what I have done, and now I can record one station on the video recorder, and another on the dvd recorder.

It's possible to do it, Laura, that's what they're mostly designed for. Dead cheap in Tescos etc, saves a ton of hassle.

Hi 'Laurie Lou'......ethel's suggestion works OK and is the cheapest but if you want to transfer a number of videos I would recommend a 'combi unit'......and if you 'shop around' the additional cost is not great.
The good thing about combi units is that they usually have a 'one button' transfer system' which makes it really easy.
I have Sony unit and have transferred dozens of videos with no problem
