Does anyone know who might sell a long arm stapler. The reason for it,is my dad can't hold his newspaper without the pages coming away (arthritis) and therefore I would like to staple the pages together. He only reads tabloid sized newspapers.

I bought mine from Viking Direct, but I am sure somewhere like Staples will sell them, they are not cheap though.

Rymans sell this one, if you prefer to buy on the High Street

Simple solution - use safety pins as temporary staples!

(I am a Brownie Leader, if u hadn't guessed!)
I bought one in Staples last May. It was 18.99 excluding the staples.
My grandfather had a gadget to help him in the same situation, I am sure you could manufacture somethng similar.
Basically it was a folder (like the cover of a book) with a piece of cord tied around the middle (the spine). The paper was inserted under the cord and the board sides supported the pages. I think he also used a clip of some kind, probably a bulldog clip, to clip the corners of the paper to the corner of the board to stop it flopping down.
He either held it on his lap when in an armchair, or propped it against the teapot on the breakfast table!
Hope this makes sense and helps.
