i buying a new one - anybody give me good advice as they are very expensive - i kno evbodys hearing loss is different - i want a real good reputable company ta

If you live in the UK, you can get them for free on the NHS - ask your GP for a hearing assessment (this make take a while to get though) and if you need one (or two) they will be made to measure for your ears and your hearing problem.

thanks juggering i have been down that road since i was four
but i find digital from nhs very uncomfortable - also their ear moulds are horribly uncomfortable too

new moulds seem to consist of a very thin wire over the and then a little plug immediately into the ear - i want comfort as i am coming to the end of my days

Mr Jules got his from Specsavers (honestly) and they seem very good, he has had no trouble with them. Otherwise I have heard other people who have used Boots.
