Vax has lost suction - please help!!!

I just emptied the bag on my Vax (the little orange cylinder type), and now it's not sucking!! The new bag is in the right position, and I can't see anywhere where there could be a blockage! Half the contents of the old bag are on my lounge floor, so I really need to get it cleaned!! Please help

Urmmm, tricky one this. Are there any tears in the bag at all?
There could be a blockage in the hose, hold it up to the light, and you'll be able to see.
Is the filter dirty?
There might be holes in the system where the air is getting out
