Was in my local shop yesterday and noticed a display of cards meant for Teachers with a selection of boxed sweets underneath,why or why do we keep on feeding the greeting card industry with this type of profit making rubbish they cost far too much at the best of times!!!!

where I come from cards have always been given to teachers or little presents at end of term, its a way of thanking them. I think it shows children how to respect and be nice to their elders or the people that have helped them better than them bunking of and joining the street gangs

well yes home made would be nicer but hey wheres there lazy parents and a way to make money..... but I do think its nice to give a gift

Thank you cards for teachers were around when my son was at school , before that we used to make one for our teacher .

Think of all the people who have jobs because of this industry....they then have money to buy things....and that keeps the economy going. Not everyone works in offices doing spreadsheets or or in other trades .......there is a huge creative industry also. You are paying the wages of a designer,a copy-writer who may be paid by the slogan-not a weekly wage.....and for the paper and other production costs. And what is wrong with spreading a bit of cheer??...better than making bombs-lol (soz-mini-rant over)
