Just been in Tesco's and they along with all the other are promoting cheap food, have big Half Price on many items. Anyway Punnet of Peaches HALF PRICE now 1.69 A bargain right. NO WAY, there are only 4 small peaches per punnet, the original price WAS 3.38 ?? for 4 small peaches ?? How can this be?? on the shelf above there was Tesco's Finest Peaches, 4 large peaches nicely packaged and for 1.99?? 50p no offer, these are there finest but cost 1 less. Will anyone pay 3.38 for 4 small peaches?? I think they've got to be having a laugh here. But I know how stupid people are (upps naive) so I don't blame them for ripping the idiots off who don't care to read the small print.. and lack basic common sense. I'm in shock that 4 small peaches can cost 3.38.

As my car does about 12 miles to the gallon about town, I abhor giving this Labour Government my hard earned money for them to spend on community centres for one-armed, single parent islamic lesbians trying to save the Armenian rainforests.
But hey ho.
As for the price of things being slashed I think it is law that they must have been sold for the previous price for at least a month or something.
This was remembered from seeing a documentary on DFS who always seem to be in Sale mode.

Our Tesco garage in Borehamwood, Herts. is charging 1.l7.9 a litre but they've been doing a promotion - if you spend 50 in store, you get a voucher for 5p. a litre off. That brings it down to only 1.12.9 a litre. Only!! It seems like yesterday when we were saying that petrol might go up to 1 a litre. Ah, the good old days!
Our local greengrocer was selling nectarines at 5 for 1 so no contest. I say local - they're not that close but it's amazing how much difference there is in the prices.
Unleaded petrol at Tesco this morning here was 1.17 but if tou spend over 50 in store (not difficult these days) you get a 5p per litre off voucher. We have a small garage nearby who is down to 1.14. Asda is at 1.13 but I haven't checked Sainsbury which is my nearest garage yet.

hehe that's interesting gina, I posted about OOD prices some weeks ago, although I thought Morrisons was the worst offender for this. And BOGOF Cream Cracker labels over Jacobs cream crackers when the offer applies to Tesco's own cream crackers that can't even be found. etc etc.. You have to have your witts about you and common sense in supermarkets these days or you're one of the idiots they target. Of course they had to be on sale at the Was price, my point being What IDIOT buys them at this price and there are plenty.
Sachs - why do you have to be a mug to take advantage of a buy one get one free offer. If it's a product that you use/eat/drink anyway and has a long shelf life, why not?
A while back Tesco had an offer on the Typhoo teabags I use - I think they were 2,49 for 160 but then they did a buy one get one free, so I bought half a dozen each week for about 4 weeks. I still have about 17 packs of teabags so won't be buying that again for about a year. Similarly, they did an offer on Weetabix recently which my husband has every day. Instead of 1.78 for the 24 pack, it was two packs for 2. Again, i've really stocked up, they have a long shelf life and I won't be buying Weetabix until next year. We won't eat any more of them or drink any more tea just because I have a big supply at the moment so I certainly don't feel a mug,
