Asda Durabrand Digital Set Top Box - no power

I have a asda durabrand digital set top box (over a year old), it was working fine yesterday, today, its dead. No power, have changed the fuse and batteries in the handset, still no joy. Has it died on me???

You get no lights or anything you would expect when it is plugged in and switched on?

Its always left on in standby, no lights showing at all. power light is normally on in red, but nothing.

Have you tried plugging it in to a different socket? If so, and still nothing, it has died.

It certainly isn't worth the cost of repair, although you could take it back to Asda and kick up a fuss. You may get a new box. :)

I bet Asda will replace it. Don't show the receipt with the date.

I have tried it in a different socket, no joy. There are so many new ones out at the moment, all different price ranges, how do you know what is the best to buy?

giggles - what do you want to do, and how much do you want to pay?

If I were spending money on digital tv equipment today I would make sure it had a hard drive and twin tuners, so it could record one tv channel whilst I watch another.

But the bog standard boxes are much of a muchness, I think.

I have been using it with the portable tv in the bedroom, got an ntl box downstairs.
