Yes to all five... but you sure are showing your age there !
PS For the unknowing....
A Record Player was a device that could *read* very old fashioned *vinyl* albums.... which were easily damaged - some came in 12" sleeves and some in much smaller ones... They first appeared around the turn of the last century and had great sound qualities attached, as well as sentimentality. Just google *don't sit on my jimmy shands* to fully appreciate how precious folk became about them....
Betamax video player - a superb format for video recording, unfortunately it got driven off the market by the sub-standard VHS.....
Atari - hehehe.. now how old are we ?
Y cardi - never heard of them... do they resemble Y fronts ?
Fingerless gloves - my musician mates used to have loads of these so they could play guitar even when it was effing freezing outside...
Other stuff - how about food scares (must peel carrots), mustn't eat eggs (salmonella), don't share showers (legionnaires), MMR vaccines, strikes, creepy politicians, the royal family having marriages and making us take unpaid leave.... lol... I'll shurrup now !

AHA, yes, I have a Hitachi stereo vinyl record player in the corner of our lounge. It's a bit old,and it also has a twin cassette player built in,as well as a radio.
The speed switch is a little loose, but it just about works.
I have to wiggle the speed switch just right in order to get it at the right speed.I have quite a big collection of vinyl records,33rpm and 45 rpm!!
I even have a vinyl record of an old Dr Who classic story of Genesis of the Daleks, which is still in good nick!!It even still has the price on it, 3.45 from WHSmith!
Other records I have in good nick are Pinky and Perky,The Wombles,Walt Disney's The Jungle Book, and Tales of Beatrix Potter read by Wendy Craig, amongst others.
Do you mean an Atari vcs or Atari computer?
I did have an Atari VCS,until I mislaid it somewhere. It could well be in the loft, I hope!!
I haven't got a betamax video player, but I do have an AKAI Vcr under the lounge TV.
What else happened in the 80's?
Ooh yes,I also have 2 ZXSpectrum computers.
A ZX Spectrum+3 128K with disc-drive,and a Spectrum+ 48K,and they still work believe it or not.

Record player: 8th birthday present (1961)
Betamax: Nope
Atari: Games console = No, but ST 1024 computer = Yes. (Still the best computer I've ever had. I ran a business with it. Atari TOS will always be far better than any version of Windows).
Y-cardi: I'm not even sure what one is (but I've got several bin-liners full of old jumpers which I keep promising myself I'll either wear or throw out).
Fingerless gloves: Are you comparing me to Fagin, by any chance? ;-)
