Answerbank is a question and answer site, not a forum.

yes editor um ..sorry steve, ive been on this site long enough to know what it is,i was just making a suggestion in the suggestion category.with the run up to xmas i think this is a terrific idea. lighten up old chap it might never happen lol.
well i agree with vinny100.good idea.
An excellent idea. In this way Crystal Guides could permit us to somewhat reimburse ourselves for our time given freely in keeping this site profitably alive for them. An excellent idea.
Great idea Vinny, but do you really buy people printers for Xmas? Boy am I glad we're not related! LOL. That almost compares with grannies home made sweatshirts ;D
*claps vinny for a good idea*
This does kind of increase the number of categories we have at the moment, which may make things simpler and may not. As this site is about Questions and Answers I feel that there are far more categories, that have already been suggested, that should be considered first. Or do you just keep adding categories until they fall off the end of the page? As SteveD points out this is not a forum, although judging by some of the questions posted recently it has become one. (What are you having for tea tonight? What things have you got on or around your computer? What's your favourite kind of pizza?)

Surely if people want to chat they will go to a forum, if they want to shop they will go to Amazon (or ebay etc) and if they want to ask or answer questions they will come here.

the amount of suggestions put on this site and the amount taken up so far by thoses in charge comes to almost nill.whats the difference between where can i get a certain make of cream crackers or i know where you can buy a printer for 9.50?this is hardly having a personel chat is it.but it is helping people get a good bargain.and IT would be in the right CATEGORY?
But if we add this suggestion to your other suggestion of hints&tips (http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Suggestions/Question59583. html), we suddenly have two more categories. Add to this categories for science, hair, radio, cars, teens, law, cameras, foreign languages, love, business, fashion etc, etc. and suddenly the list is off the bottom of the screen. Where do we stop?
The AB team have to make certain decisions when creating new categories, so as not to overload the site and make it more confusing for users. At the end of the day this is a question and answer site, not a suggestions site. People come here when they need an answer, not when they want to buy a new watch or lawnmower.

WRAITH. as stevie points out this is not a forum or a chat site.which i find somewhat hypocritical since you contiue to chat and use this as a forum.YOU have been a busy bee tonight, scanning the site to try and get something i have said in the past and use it against me. what did you come up with"WOW "hints & tips"which i might say was a brilliant idea.listen, the chances of this suggestion becoming a category is nill so you can sleep safely in your bed tonight, sweet dreams VINNY 1OO+++p.s if you cant sleep look at news(i am an atheist)24 answers from intelligent people, would you like to contribute???
My apologies vinny100, I didn't scan the site to try and get something you have said in the past to use it against you. I simply pulled out some of the suggestions that have already been made and one of them happened to be yours. I am simply trying to make the point that too many categories will make the site more cluttered and less usable.

Again my apologies, no offence was intended. I made the wrong assumption that this part of the site was for making and discussing new suggestions.
