Just been in my local branch in Plymouth and the prices are exactly the same as yesterday. Those prices yesterday and all of last week which are supposedly 50% are not even 50% its just 10% 20% or 30% if reduced at all and all the chocolates have been priced up by 2.

Plus I think someone asked about the prices because as I walked past one on the assistants she said "we're not giving the stuff away, were just reducing it" I can't see that their even living upto that

lol hi pasta, I think they are all closing but some quicker than others I think it just stock based the shop will stay open as long as theres enough stock to warant it. When it gets a empty they will close the doors because it not worth the staff wages etc.
I think they are going to draw out this closing sale about a week at least and then reduce things to the bargin prices they have promised only when they have too.
I have to say the plymouth branch was packed couldn't move. But I think the people in their hadn't been in already and therefore they thought the reductions were new and worth grabbing.
I think some people trust woolworths to be competitive for price but in fact they have increased alot of prices to them reduce them and make the deal look tempting.
As already confirmed nothing is actually 50% off as advertised all last week, and nothings change now even though 'closing sale' is all over the news

As I said when I heard the news about woolies, the biggest asset to sell would be the shops themselves or the leases as most Woolies are in the best locations, they have been around like100 years so they have had first dibbs of the best spots in town.
If I were a retailer I would be putting offers on the table now, I bet the administors will take the offers up they need every penny to pay themselves for their costs and time. For those that don't know none of the creditors will be paid a penny it will all go into Deloittes big pockets.

It's manic in our local Woolies. I feel really sorry for the staff as they are trying to go round upping the discount notices (20% to 30%) and everyone is in the way. People are asking questions like 'How much will this be reduced to in the future'? and 'When will the Nintendo DS be less than 80'? and the staff know very little except that they are losing their jobs.
