Coconut ice

Hiya does anyone know where I can get some coconut ice from (it's a type of sweet) thank you and happy Christmas!! Xxx

asian shops that sell their cakes and sweets; not their regular grocery shops. They do pink & white blocks.

Thanks terambulan, but i live in Chelmsford and i don't have any asian shops here. I'm really upset, i wanted to buy some for my sister for christmas but i can't find it anywhere :-(

It's a pity you don't live in the North West as you can buy it at Booths supermarkets.

Coconut Ice is really simple to make yourself.

COCONUT ICE:-
1pound cube sugar (Must use cubed)
�pint water
4ounces desiccated coconut
Cochineal

Dissolve the sugar in the water and then boil to a temperature of 240�F. Remove the saucepan from the heat , add the coconut and stir until the mixture thickens, then pour half into a greased tin. Tint the remaining mixture pink, using a few drops of cochineal, and pour on to the white layer.
Leave to set and then cut into bars.

Probably a week to ten days in an airtight container.
