The sales started in November...!!
Question Author
Not yesterday ?
Well they might have done even more reductions but I doubt it's noticable.

I'd rather die than go shopping in the sales with all those crazy people thinking they are getting a bargain cos they saved 2.
Manchester is crazy with sales people!

The few bits I did see were crap though that's not saying much as I didn't even stick around long, far too many people for me :)

We didn't last long ... about an hour, before we went and hid in a restaurant.

You're right ... it was hideous and ghastly. I take your point.

But I saved almost 200 on a coat for my mum, and 100 on a skirt for a friend, so it can be worth it.
I'm saving a lot more money by not shopping. :)
It hasn't been bad crowd-wise down here......but what is on sale is mostly stuff you wouldn't touch with a 10ft bargepole. Tho I did get a cookbook-reduced to 1.99 from 20...but that was in THEWORKS.....and they are always on sale.
But there are still folk laden down with bags....where do they get the from???

I went up to London with Thing2. We had planned to "do" the Sales.

We got out at Pic Circus. I got a coat in Aquascutum (for Mum ... saved 200) and a skirt for Thing1 (saved 100).

Then we went over the road to Austin Reed and I bought Daddy some shirts.

Thing2 got some stuff in Jaeger.

Then we looked at the crowds blocking the way up to Oxford Street, and thought ... sod that. So we spent the rest of the afternoon in Topo Gigio, feeding our faces.

Bottom line ... I saved quite a bit, but didn't get anything for me.

=0(

But we had a jolly Italian meal and a fab old chin wag.
I hate the sales, the crowds and the hype!

I think folks just go mad for stuff they don't really want when they see it's reduced!!

I went shopping saturday and not one item I bought was in sale. I found a really nice top in sale rack and when I got to till she said it wasnt in sale and someone must have put it there accidently.

I went into a Woolworths yesterday and bought loads of CDs at 20 pence each.

but I feel guilty, like I've kicked them when they're already down!
Question Author
sara ... you were just helping to soften the blow, when they needed it most.

How many CD's did you buy? You could have bought the whole compnay for 1.
I think I bought about 12. (I chucked the receipt.. hardly worth keeping!) some of them were doubles and were registering as 14.99, then reduced to 20p.

it's just not right!

I would have bought some staff, but they weren't very cheerful ;o)
All i bought was some half price Xmas cards from Oxfam for next year. Hi sara3 :) xxx
Sadly there's no sale in Gucci... or Prada... Or Chanel... or ANYWHERE I shop. It's annoying.

Where are the sales then?
Question Author
I wouldn't have bought any staff, sara.

They come with those polyester uniforms. You'd have kept getting an electric shock.
Question Author
Where do you live QofA ? (approximately)

I got a coat for my mum yesterday reduced to 300 from almost 500. I think everwhere has sales.
hi Baths x

good point Jayne!

they had signs up.. you could buy the store safe for 300 (empty, I assume!), and filing cabinets for 30. I wonder if I can buy a lottery terminal machine thingy......
What sales. These prices are the prices we had before everything went tits up.
